Mission
Own and build Cybord’s pre-sales technical function for enterprise OEMs and regulated industries. Lead technical discovery, PoC design and execution, on-site validation at manufacturing sites, and executive-level technical storytelling that positions Cybord against the status quo.
Reporting
Reports to VP Sales. Works closely with Software Engineering and Support.
Markets served
Enterprise OEMs and EMS partners across critical infrastructure, zero tolerance manufacturing, aerospace and defense, telecommunications, and data center.
Location and eligibility
United States or Canada. Role requires a U.S. citizenship for export-control compliance, with the ability to pass background checks.
Responsibilities
- Own the pre-sales technical function and build it into an outstanding practice.
- Lead discovery, solution architecture, and PoC design with clear success criteria and de-risking plans.
- Execute PoCs hands-on, including on-site validation in air-gapped and constrained environments, then hand off cleanly to delivery.
- Articulate Cybord’s positioning versus the status quo at the line and enterprise levels, handle objections, and provide consultative guidance for regulated environments.
- Partner with Engineering to shape demo environments, data capture, and edge lab setups that mirror customer reality.
- Build and maintain field playbooks, runbooks, checklists, and the customer-facing FAQ.
- Own the technical sections of RFPs and security questionnaires and coordinate timely, accurate responses.
- Instrument KPIs for PoC win rate, time-to-first-value, diligence turnaround time, and technical stage health.
Required experience
- 8+ years in Solutions Engineering or Pre-Sales Architecture with hands-on ownership of PoCs and on-site validations.
- Strong IT and DevOps skills in mixed environments: Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows administration, networking, identity, TLS and certificates, basic scripting in Python, containers and registries.
- Comfort in manufacturing sites and with SMT or inspection equipment data flows, including constraints around shop-floor networks and air-gapped patterns.
- Executive presence and high-clarity writing for proposals, FAQs, and readouts.
- Willingness to travel 20% to 40% of the time and align to factory schedules when needed.
DevOps depth including:
- CI and artifacts: Git, GitHub or GitLab CI, artifact registries, reproducible builds, signed artifacts.
- Infrastructure and config: Docker, private registries, Kubernetes optional, Ansible or Terraform, Packer, systemd services.
- Monitoring and logging: system metrics and logs with Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK, plus alerting and health checks.
- Networking and security: VLANs, routing, firewalls, reverse proxies, TLS and certificates, certificate automation, secrets management, VPN and bastion hosts.
- Air-gapped practices: offline package and container mirrors, private registries, scripted upgrades, patch management, backup and restore.
- Automation and scripting: Python or Bash for install tooling, diagnostics, and data handling.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with A and D buyer expectations and due-diligence workflows.
- Exposure to MES and other manufacturing solutions.
- Database and software language proficiency.
- Other languages (Hebrew is a big plus).
